About the Client

Our client is a global leader in aviation authoring services, helping aerospace companies create, manage, and distribute critical maintenance documentation. The platform supported 5,000+ aircraft and 75,000+ daily users, with partnerships that include 4 of the top 5 engine OEMs and 3 of the top 4 global airlines, built on more than 30 years of industry expertise.

The Business Challenge

Challenges in Delivering On-Time, Compliant, and Scalable Aircraft Documentation

Aircraft maintenance manuals are mission-critical for guiding airlines and engineers through inspections and repairs. To be effective, they must be accurate, compliant with standards like S1000D and iSpec 2200, and delivered securely and on time. These standards ensure consistency and regulatory approval across OEMs and airlines, and any deviation can lead to grounded aircraft, failed audits, or safety risks.

The client’s documentation platform faced four critical challenges.

  1. Manual compliance validation against aerospace standards was slowing down publishing cycles and increasing the likelihood of errors.
  1. A shortage of engineers with deep knowledge of S1000D and iSpec 2200 created delivery bottlenecks and limited scalability.
  1. As the platform expanded to support multiple OEMs, content duplication and inconsistencies multiplied.
  1. Lastly, fragmented workflows delayed distribution, leaving operators without timely access to validated manuals, ultimately disrupting maintenance schedules.

The Zuci Solution

Built a scalable, compliance-first platform that delivered accurate documentation at speed

Zuci addressed the compliance, scalability, and publishing challenges by re-engineering both the platform architecture and the development practices

Closed the Compliance Skill Gap

We trained a dedicated engineering team on the S1000D and iSpec2000 compliance standards and integrated the rules directly into the system. The standards were encoded in XML schemas, embedded in validation scripts, and built into sprint-level testing pipelines. As a result, compliance shifted from being a late-stage checkpoint to a continuous safeguard, ensuring every update was standards-aligned by default.

Re-architected the platform for scale

We re-architected the platform into a modular design, where standards-based rules were applied consistently across modules. This allowed new OEMs to be onboarded quickly, supported parallel development, and maintained uniformity across multiple documentation tools. The result was a platform that could grow globally without sacrificing speed or quality.

Streamlined Documentation Delivery

We implemented a centralized content lifecycle management system that automated workflows and introduced real-time version control. With standards validation embedded into these workflows, only compliant content advanced through the publishing chain. This gave operators secure, immediate access to the latest manuals, reducing turnaround time and minimizing risks of outdated documentation.

Ensured Compliance into Agile Release Cycles

We integrated compliance validation into every agile sprint. Automated test cases based on S1000D/iSpec rules ran alongside development tasks, so standards were checked continuously. Documentation updates were released faster, while still meeting strict regulatory standards. The client achieved both speed and reliability in every release cycle.
